.....There is no blot on his record as a legislator. or citizen.
No one questions his ability. his sincerity. his integrity or his seal
to serve the state andq,of its people in the 'igh office he seeks.
Re is uniVersale liked and respected throughout the state. We repeat
a quotation by a staff writer for one of 2:: leading newspasrs: "No
one can find anything bad to sqr about Farris Bryant. He is qualified,
he is ready to occupy the seat at the head of the cabinet table tn at
Tallahassee.
Farris Bryant has made :1 aggressive campaign. He has traveled
the length and breadth of the state. He has made himself acquainted to
the voters everynuere through his appea rance onthe television screen.
No one can discount the fact that he has made friends by the thousands.
Or that these friends will add up to votes at the polling places.
To say that Farris Drymt has no chance in the present race is
sate fly in the face of the facts He has Fade an inproasion on the
tinkiug people of Florida. His eloquent earnestness on the stump and
TV screen has been cenvincing. He does have a chance to be the runnerup
in the first primary.
Nearly everyone will concede that Gov. LeRoy Collins will be
high man in the May 8th voting. That is to be expected, but even the
best politics. prophets cannot agree on who will finish in second p1ace---
Iarren, Bryant or Lowry.
The wise ones are saving that Warren is no longer sure of finishing
second in the first primary; that Lowry is making surprising gahs a1d
his candidacy is a real challenge. But they are also saying that Bryant,
one of the most effective candidates on television, has been picking up
substantial support.
How substantial that support i111 be we do not know. But thac
that is a question Sarion county ctc.....
There is a new factor in this campaign that cannot be discounted--
and that is the women's vote. In former years women, uhodid not attend
the rallies relied on their husbands to tell them how to vote. But 81 of
that is changed now.
Women voters of this state, this year, have been sitting quietly
in the homes listening to the candidates, 81d watching them on the televieio
screens. And that is where Ferris Bryant is most erredtive as a speaker.
Thousands of teen "0 do not know him personally have become acquldnted
nth him on TV. have been impressed by his encertty ad eloquence and will
cast their.votee for hinu That will be a fine testimonial for the worth
of our Marion County candidate.
Let's ceet our votes etc.
