Farris Bryant etc.
Farris Bryant, confident over the success of his "TELESTUMPING"
tours throughout the state, will begin his week of April 16 schedule
with a handshaking MEET THE PEOPLE excursion through the Greater Miami
area Monday morning.
At noon the gubernatorial candidate from Ocala will be in Ft.Lau~
derdale for lunch and an afternoon of meetings with campaign workers
and supporters. Monday night and Tuesday morning he will be at the
Governor's Club Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale.
Tuesday noon Bryant will return to Miami to meet supporters and be
on hand for his television appearance over WITV, Channel 17, and WTVJ,
Channel A, from 8:30 8:L5 Tuesday evening.
Tuesday night, wednesday and wodnesday night Bryant will be at the
George Washington Hotel in the west Palm Beach area with a television
appearance over VJNO-TV, Channel 5, from 6:00 to 6:30 wedneeday eVening.
Moving north along the East Coast of the state, Bryant will have
Thursday morning coffee in Stuart where he will speak on the local radio
network. At 9:h5 he will have a radio broadcast in Ft. Pierce and more
north again for a radio speech and lunch in Vero Beach at 11 o'clock.
With the Orlando area and a television appearance from 8 until 8:30
over WDBO-TV Channel 6, his destination for Thursday night, Bryant will
make stopoff speeches Thursday afternoon in Melbourne at 2 o'clock,
St. Cloud at L o'clock and Kissimmes at 5 o'clock. while in Orlando,
his headquarters will be at the Angebilt Hotel.
Leaving Orlando early Friday morning, he will have a coffee meeting
with workers and supporters in Cocoa at 8:30 and go on to Titusville for
a 9zh5 speech Friday morning.
Ferris Bryant 2
A radio speech at 11:30 and lunch are on the schedule for San-
ford and then the Bryant party will make afternoon stops with Jackson-
ville the final destination for Friday night. Enroute, they will stop
for a speech in Delend at 2 o'clock. Bryant will stay in new Smyrna
from L until 5 o'clock Friday and then fly into the Jacksonville area
for a half hour television appearance over HER-TV from 9:00 until
9:30 Friday night. he will he at the George Washington Hotel.
Saturday morning, April 21, Bryant will meet with supporters at
Fernandina Beach and return to Jacksonville at 10:30 to attend the
State Jaycee Convention. Heading back toward Ocala, Bryant will speak
in Stark at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, Gainesville at k:h5 and will
arrive in Leesburg for a rally at 8:00 o'clock that night. Sunday he
will be at his home in Ocala.
Reviewing speeches of the past week, Bryant hit hardest at Collins
statement that he had passed 90% of his legislative program during the
last session of the legislature. Bryant enumerated the promises which
he said Collins had not carried through. Among them was legislative
reapportionment, reorganisation of the executive departments, a change
in the local hill evil, 3 special session of the legislature to revise
the constitution, central purchasing agency, a new system abolishing
fees of sheriffs. elimination of the "quickie" divorce law,abolition
of the milk commission, an attack on the red tide, nurseries for re-
forestetion, increased revenue from the dog tracks and open meetings
of the state boards.
