inaugural necutiue Co-ittee Nesting continued--
obtain standards set (or tls tlosts which participated in the Orange howl Parade.
it was further suggested that the eeleetion oi floats should be nads by the inaugural
Executive Oo-ittse. tech group entering a ilost into the Parade should sub-it a sketch
to the inaugural emittee tor their approval.
At this point the question of how long the parade should last was io)ected. ltr. Dollar
stated that he believed that as a general rule parades of this type rso between i to 2 hrs.
This was discussed openly among the comittss seabars and all agreed that it should run
about two hours. This rinsing should allow tor so to 90 units to participate. which will
include the bands. floats, and nilitery unite. lire. terry pointed out to the Couittee
that in the last inauguration the ties listed in the inaugural trogrsa for the Panda 0"
Ira 1:30 I'- ll. to 3:00 I'. ll.
It was also reported by the General chairaan that the pressure would beco- grester es ties
went along on the idea oi entering horses in the Parade. it was voted on again by the
Count that there would be no horses in the parade. lt was stated that the Co-ittee
should neintein their position on this subject as long as possible. this point was discust
at great length aaong the Co-ittee and all were in agreeaent. lit. Deller concluded this
subject on horses by saying that anyone wishing to enter a horse should be willing to accept
the Executive Co-ittee's decision on this subject. it they have to be entered. it was
suggested that they close the parade.
W
lir. Deller reported to the Couittee that he had a nesting with Husl wheeler and l'at Griffin
with the idea in nind o! eelecting a tire to decorate the City. lie further reported that
they were to get in touch with lir. Vein to get a list oi persons who could work with the.
on this Co-ittee. lir. Iain reported to the Conittse that this had been done.
hr. Mayo interrupted the train of thought at this tins and went heels to the Parade Cot-ittee.
he asked Dir. Deller ii Charlie Carter had called any or the tires that were interested in
building ilosts and decorations. Dir. Dells: reported that to his loiouledge this had not been
done. the question also arose as to whether one or sore fir-a should build these oats.
lit. Whitfield suggested that perhaps it night he better to have sore than one to prevent
hick-backs. This was discussed among the Co-ittee washers. and it was generally decided
that perhaps it night he better it we would use sore than one builder. After each County
had euhoitted their design and received approval. than each poroon ouhaitting a float mild
be given a choice of fir-a to build their particular ilost. hr. Deller stated at this
point that he believed that the Co-ittee night possibly he a little preneture in toning
to a decision on this point. since we do not know whether or not all the tires interested
were quelilied to build the type of (lost desired.
DEIMUISRED mgg
lir. Kayo reported to the Oo-ittee that letters have been sent out by the housing ce-ittse
