Fred Schultz was first elected to the Floridagislature in 1963, representing Duval
County. Subsequently, he was elected by overwhelming tnatorities in 1965, 1967.
and 1968. in 1968. Schultz was accorded the Legislature's highest honor when his
colleagues elected him Speaker of the House of Representatives. a position he cur
rently holds. His creativity and dedication for improved state government was rec
ognized in 1967 when he was named Chairman of State Governmental Organization
and Efficiency Committee of the House.

Respected and admired as an active member of his home cny of Jacksomille. Fred
Schultz has long expressed a dedication to community servrce His affiliations in-
clude Chamber of Commerce: Executive Committee and Board of Trustees. St
Vincent's Hospital: trustee of JaCkSOnvllle Universny Edward Waters College and
Bolles School: past member of Board of Governors. Jacksonville Area Chamber of
Commerce: past presrdent of Jacksonvrlle Downtown COUHCII He was a member
of the Jacksonville Expressway Authority 1961-63

just like other youngsters his age
