Sitting citizen tron facts truth tron diatortion is an '_"
alnoet impossible tank sometimes in selecting candidates for important

offioee and the present canpaign for governor nay be even acre difficult
than the average. Trouble in that few guhenatorial candidates are
making their records available to toe publig{:§3%;zi:%§i:g fantasy for
facts. It would appear that few of then actually have much of a record
to dieplay.

One candidate, arrie Bryant. former Speaker of the House. in
an exception. Hie campaign aaterial is generouely equipped with
detailsd.reccrded and authenticated svidsnae of hie I six tan in
the chee of spresantativee. Bryant'a pereonal family lite. his
service to hie church (he'e a Methodist) and his statewide chainnanehip
of six anor driven for funds to eradicate diesaee are all eet forth.

Bryant'e speechs alvnye end with aaple tine for queetione fro:
the audience and iteohvioue that he enjoys that part of hie programs
acet.

Bryant ie not only the best qualified candidate for governor
in thie election. but he any well he the nest honored nan ever to offer
hiaeelf for office in Tlorida's hietcry. Be'e the only Ian to receive
the Florida Junior Ohanher of lonneroe 'Biatinguiehed Service Award acre
than once (Bryant was so-cited in 1948 and 1950). and he received the
'lational Distinguished Service Areas: iteelf in 1948 an uslIIV/lhs
Univeraity of Florida bestowed a citation upon Bryant in 1953 for 'Outetanding
Service to the State and Univereity'.

Voters are prone to view skotione far too caaualg, if they
really underetood that they were hiring a manager ggsst
hueinsss of then allt a nan who will virtually control the expenditure

of hillione of their own tax dollars. it is highly likely that they
