Ir. Farris Bryant
P. O. Box 1713
Ocala, Florida

Dear Farris:

Thank you for your letter of the
14th.

Yes, we could go on arguing into
eternity. i believe I know more
about how The Iiani News conducts
its reporting and its deliberations
in forming editorial opinions than
you do. Ioreover, I do not argue
that a political candidate should
he denied the privilege of stating
his position in the public press.
I! you sill have someone seasure
the coverage given you in The Miami
News columns, you will find that
you fared quite well.

But you are right, we could argue
forever and I do not believe we
could agree on this point.

I do not mean to sound rude, but
Florida is a great deal bigger than
you or me or anyone else in it.

I want this to be an intelligent
state and a sort of a trail boss
for the South. I think the peOple
have the imagination and the energy
to do this. This is what I want

and this is what I am going to try
to promote.

All this talk is so general. Per-
haps the attached is Specific enough
to explain my position.

Sincerely,

L,
