Farris Bryant, Esq.

Ocala. Florida
Dear Farris:
I trust that you and Julia had a nice vacation, and very glad you were
able to get away {or a few days.
i just tried to reach you by phone. and learned that you are out of the
City and not expected to return until tomorrow. Since placing the call.
I have learned that I will be out of town tomorrow and thereiore take
this means to advise you of the iollowing:
I a) The rumor is still prevalent that you will be present at the
Hialeah-Miami Springs Chambe_r_qi.__C_ommerce dinner on the 32th. I
-/x/ wave-mama alli-Ivh'o'have inauired that the fist time l .1565 with you
-" your calendar was already booked on that date for a function in another
a W W: part of the State, and that you would be unable to attend. I would ap-
- {g preciate it it you would advise me as soon as possible if you have de-
cided to be at this affair. _l_certainly do not think you are under any
- more obligation to be here now than when we discussed this matter last
week. This has apparently been a promotion of Dr. McGee's.
b) David Eldredge contacted me yesterday in reference to your
location and when you wo d be in Ocala. as he expected to be there
some time this week. 1 suggested he get in touch with you direct; that
1 did not have your itinerary. I think that Dave will support your pro-
grams without any hesitation, but just to keep the record straight (al-
though myself and others in your camp are responsible for his election)
1 am assured that he quietly did everything he could to urge_the election
57130er Carlton, and is presently employed and owes his livelihood to

_a strong Collins and Carlton backer, Oscar Dooley, who gave us a token
contribution of 00.30.
c) The breakfast is set up for 8:00 o'clock A.M.. Tuesday,
June 28, 1960, "Dutch Treat" at the Sky Room of the Dupont Plaza. An-
ticipated attendance should be in the neighborhood of 300 to 350. Julian
called me last week in reference to having a press conference during
your visit in the City. 1 told him I did not have your arrival time, but
expected you to arrive late Monday night. We discussed having a press
conference at 10:00 Tuesday morning, if this would not inconvenience
you on your departure. As I recall our discussion of last week, your
schedule called for you to be back in Ocala in early afternoon of the 28th.
d) l have reserved a three-room suite at the Dupont Plaza from
Monday noon until Tuesday evening, or longer if you should desire to
stay. If you could arrive early enough for dinner Monday night. Jim and
1 would like to arrange a dinner party between Dubbin, Morgan, Palmer,
Sibley, Kehoe, Lee and myself, and if Julia is with you, our wives. If
this would be convenient, please advise; if not and you would rather do
something else or spend a quiet evening in the hotel I will understand.
e) The address for Lee Brooks is: c/o Concord Shopping Cen-
ter, 407 Lincoln Road, Miami Beac 39. Florida.
0 Enclosed herewith please find duplicate copy of a "Thank
You" list which we forwarded to Ocala. i understand these people have
not received any letters and they should. from your office. Therefore
in case the first list has been misplaced, I am enclosing a duplicate.
Awaiting your advices, with warmest personal regards to you and Julia.
1 remain
Yours very truly,
