BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
Edwin L. (Ed) Mason
Member. Florida Railroad and Public Utilities Commission

Edwin L. (Ed) Mason. member of the Florida Railroad
and Public Utilities Commission since l959. was born in
Virginia in 1916.

He moved with his iamin to Miami in 1925 and attended
elementary and high school in Dade County. He received
his LL. 8. degree from Stetson University in l940.

A member of the U. 8. Navy Reserve. Mason was called
to duty in l9 and served in the European and Pacific thea-
ters. He was awarded [our Battle Stars and the Bronze Star
medal before being released from active duty with the rank
of lieutenant in 1946.

After re-entering the private practice of law. Mason
served as special assistant m the U. 8. District Attorney
in Miami. Justice oi the Peace. Coroner and Small Claims
Judge.

He was elected to the Dade County Commission in l947
and served until 1959. when he was appointed to the Florida

Railroad and Public Utilities Commission.
