Dear Farris:

It certainly was a pleasure to see you when you visited Miami
recently. The day after you were here, I was stricken with the
flu and remained in bed for the next several days. I know you
were planning to get in touch with me after you had had your
conference with David Hume, but were probably prevented from
so doing by my absence from the office.

Mr. Sibley has been interested in knowing the reaita of your con-
versat inn with Hume and your decision on the matter we discussed.
I would appreciate your thoughts concerning this matter.

I saw your partner, John Marshall Green, in Gainesville at the
University of Florida Alumni Association meeting, as well as
Jimmy Kynes and many of my other friends from Ocala. Largely
through the efforts of Jimmy, l have recently been appointed to
the Executive Council of that body. I look forward to my service
in this capacity with a great deal of pleasure.
