Thank you for your letter. And thank you for your

support throughout the campaign. It leant a great
deal to I

I was or course disappointed thlt our percentage in
Palm Beach ran 30 low, but reoognlze the very great
dir;1culty our friends there had in promoting my
campaign. If we ever could have gotten the papers
to let up for one day saying that Bryant waen't 1n
the race and wean't really running it might have
been possible to do something, but I doubt if any-
thing could have stoma the tide that we now see
was roll1ng over us.
