Dear Farris:

It will be my pleasure to act as host to the
Southern Governors' Conference at the Boca Ratcn Club
November 1-h, 1953. The response to my original letter
of invitation to the Southern Governors indicates that
all, or virtually all, of the Governors will be present.

Governor Talnadge, the Chairman of the Southern
Governors' Conference, advises us that the Secretary of
Agriculture Honorable Ezra Taft Benson, has accepted an
invitation to be the principal speaker at the Governors'
Dinner on the evening of Monday, Iovenber 2.

I shall be honored to have you with ne on that
occasion. Please keep this date in mind and plan to be
present, if you possibly can, because I want this Southern
Governors' Conference to be outstanding in every respect,
and I an sure that your presence will be appreciated by
all of the Governors who may attend.
