Dear Farris:
Recently I was talking with a friend of nine,
m. Albert William, 2955 Roselle Street, Jacksonville,
Florida, and he pointed out to me that for a long time
there used to be a safety inspector in connection with
the higknaay depot-uncut, one being allocated to each Gon-
gresnional District. Mr. Billions points out that a few
years back when the new Cong-eesional Districts were
created there was no one appointed for the Second Con-
gressional District of Florida and he points outmat this
is a very popuha district and a growing one and he feels
that this is an unfairness to the people or this area.
He and I discussed the fact that this is not a Federal
position, but he felt that I would be in a good position
to bring it to your attention in view or the growing
nature or the population in this area and the many new
roads and highway facilities here to be soon constructed.

officers, but I certainly do feel that the Second Con-
gressional District should not be discriminated against

appointment for the District in this field of endeavor.
If this does occur, then I would like to bring to your
attention the name of Mr. Albert Williams as a possible
recipient of this position, and I am glad to tell you that
Ihavo knowhinfor years, thathe unedtobe oaths city
council of Jacksonville (for approximately 12 years), and
that I know or nothing negative about his character or
ability and feel that he would be a person that you wont!
