I had a rather hectic morning last Thursday. The
degmsiti-m erritinueal much later than I had anti-
cipated it would, and, fortunately for that circum-
stance. J ohn Turner. was tied up and could not
get by. T had the very definite feeling that he didn't
want to in 5-? very badly. although I did not talk with
him personally and must rely upon a report for that.
Horace Cables did show up to attend Rotary with me,
and we had a fine talk after Rotary. llis attitude was
everything that cvuld be desired. and he is whole-
heartedly in the project. It but remains to let him
know what needs to be done. Along that line I have
discussed ith him the necessity of my making per-
snnal contacts with the leaders in the Dade area. and
that we v mlcl ike proceed by having him make apooint
ments for me with selected leaders. He agreed to do
that, and in addition offered to go with me to see any
of those he thought he might be helpful with. He anti-
cipated no difficulty in securing appointments with any-
one v-n thought wise to see. Next time in Miami I want
to be sure and talk with you and he together.
After he left avid Hume came up, and we had a very
pleasant and entirely agreeable conversation. I advised
him that we would give him an answer in a very few
days to the proposition he was considering, and he said
that he was complete]! agreeable to going along on the
basis suggested by his client.

There was not time to talk with the law firm to which
you referred, but u I look in e reference work here
in my office I am e little bit confused. The firm is
named with only the names of the first two persons
you mentioneri to me new! I cut not even find the
name of the third person you mentioned listed in the
reference work. Vane of the three persons you men-
tioned are given guy reting at all. either good or bad.
and that gives me some concern.
I am gning tn make eeriy arrangements to back in
Miami and will try~to give you more notice this
next time so that we can have some time, preferany
in the evening so we can talk at e leisurely pace. to
consider the whole field.
