Dear Farris:
Thank you for your nice letter of October 30. I well under-
stand the problem of your busy schedule, and knew when I did
not see you that such was the case. I enjoyed what I heard
of your observations and remarks to the Associated Industries
Convention.
I really had nothing of importance in mind, but was simply
following a desire to become better acquainted with you.

courage, and money, to enter the race of 1960. This encour-
agementof mine, bewever, should be very lightly considered
as I will at that time be engaged in a campaign of my own,
if present plans are not altered by future events, and in
such a position, I will probably be needing all of the help
that I can get rather than being of any assistance to any
other candidate.
I do believe, however, that you have a great deal to offer
the people of Florida, and I know that you will consider all
of these things thoroughly before making any decision not to
enter the race.
I am still looking forward to the opportunity of becoming
better acquainted with you, and hope to see you at your
convenience some time in the future.
