Dear Farris:

Now that the l95l session of the Florida Legislature is ever and
now that we are partially rented from our labors there, it is
nice to think back over the session. I believe history will de-
cide that it was a constructive session. It certainly was an em:-
nomical session and I feel that we were fortunate to get enough
meney appropriated to carry on the necessary functions of the
State government for the next two years. The people of Florida

should appreciate the fact that this was done without the necessity
of levying new taxes.

You will have a large responsibility for next session. If I can

help you any way in smoothing these matters out, please do not
hesitate to call on me.

I want you to [mow that I sincerely appreciate the many courtesies
shown me during the Lime we have served together in the Florida
House. The fine {ricndahips we make.there,,make the sacrifice of
serving seem worth while.- Marion County-was moat fortunate in
having three such able members in the 1951 session. I do not be-

lieve there has ever been a time before when all the members of

any one delegation were right up at the top of every poll that was
taken.
