Dear John:

It was a terrific weekend, some most eiiective work was
done, and I am tremendously grateful for all you have
done and are willing to do.

Although the weekend was a series of pleasant affairs,
I think the most pleasant time that we had was probably
on the patio at the Gonquiatador. It gave me a chance
to become acquainted with your lovely wile, to get to
visit with Burgess, and to tail: in a leisurely {ashion
with so many of your friends an opportunity which

usually escapes me in the midst of the pressures under
which we now labor.

I hope you will talk over with Wendell and Son and Joe
the matter we talked about just before I leit Friday even-

ing. I shall be completely contented with the judgment
which all at you bring to bear on the matter.

Julia and I both were enamored with Mrs. Pace. She
is a beautiful person with a sweet and lovely disposition,

and we should like so much to get to know both of you
better.
