Dear Burt:

I am sorry it has been so very long since I visited
with you in Pensacola, and have been on the verge
from time to time of calling you to ask you to
attend a little meeting over i: this part or the
State, but it seemed so far for you to some and too
much for me to ask.

Time is dwindling away, and Just as soon as this legis-
lative session is over I want to make a combined speaking
and visiting tour from Gadson County west to Pensacola
and return. A number of civic clubs have already been
kind enough to indicate there willingness to Lig me
speak to then, and I an very anxious to do it.

From where I sit it looks very much as though Fuller
were back in the campaign, and he will of course he a
formidable opponent though by no stretch of the imagina-
tion will he ever be elected Governor of Florida again.
From where I sit it does not appear that Roy will run
again, and even more than that it appears that the court
will not let him run even if he wants to. That of course
is problematical, and his potential or actual candidacy
will in no way effect my plans.

Would you be so kind, if I can give you sufficient

notice in advance, to arrange for us to meet, individually
or collectively, or in small groups, with some of the
people in Pensacola you think I ought to know in the event
this thing gets under way? Such an action on your part
wouldfbe a tremendous help to me, and I would be forever
grate ul.
