Dear Ferris:-

It was nice to see you again at the pro-session
school yesterday. I think that the school was well planned

and executed and feel that it was of great benefit to me
personally.

I want to thank you for appointing me to the
Education Committee.1 am deeply interested in this work
and am so glad to have an opportunity to work with the
able men whom you appointed on this committee.

I do not think that I requested appointment to the
Committee on Elections.If I may, at this late date, I would
like to apply for membership on this oommittee.I am especially
interested in legislation to try to correct the abuses in
absentee balloting and am working with our friend Hal Adams
on this particular phase of the election laws. Do you happen to
know whether or not any similar legislation is being prepared?

Please do not construe the above request as special.

Just, if you happen not to have too many applications in this
particular committee, would appreciate consideration.
