I just received a phone call from Ray Richardson in which
he told me of your expression of friendship and support
and hasten to tell you of my gratitude for them both.

This is being dictated Sunday afternoon. and i have just
returned (mm a several day visit to Richmond. Virginia.
and Washington. D. C. in Richmond. i talked with Cover-
nor Almond, and with the Assistant Superintendent 0!
Public Instruction; in Washington, I talked with both Senn-
tors and all seven Democrats in the House from Florida.
Out 0! these conversations, I gained a great deal of knowl-
edge. not becuase of any radically new ideas expressed, bu
because these men both reilect and lead public opinion

in Florida and the South.

Some evening when you have a little leisure, I wish you wm
call me at home and give me a chance to go over with you
some oi the thourhgts that are developing.
