Dear Ferris:

I was delighted to see the article in last Sunday's
Tribune concerning the book you have written on state government.
I am entremely proud that you had a part in this with Dr. J. 8.
Dovell. I thought possibly if you had not seen the article you
might appreciate receiving a copy. I am very much interested in
obtaining a copy of this book, so the next than I am in Gainesville
I can pick up one, I imagine, at the University book store.

I have been in contact with John timer who is very anxious
to get the ball rolling. My conversation with him was that I would
like to establish a finance committee and would like for hhn and

George Howell to assist us in getting a very prominent nucleus.

I believe John has talked with Howard Irankland and a number of
other people. I casually was talking with George how-ll on the
street the other day and he stated that he would like to haVe a
list of any people who have committed themselves direct to you,
from Tampa and illsborough County, in order that we may use this
list to select a group to serve on this finance cos-ittee.

Incidentally, I had a call in for you, today. and found
that you are out of town until Friday. Please let me hear from you
as to whether or not you have a list of such people as mentioned
above. I put in a call for John Hammer to check with hum but, as
usual, he is out of town and very difficult to reach. He mentioned
that he was asking you for such a list and I have not been able to

see it. Possibly you might send me a copy of the list he has and

you might add others that have come to mind since you prepared the
one for him.
