PLease accept my apologies for not making an earlier answer
to your letters. I have been attempting to gain some information
Jrom over the State as to the present indicatiOns in the Governor's
race, and ease to work out some matters involving only this County.

I have come to two conclusions, namely:

i. I am as strongly convinced today as I was in 1956, that
you are the most qualified man in the State of Florida to be
Governor.

2. I am presently considering running for the State Senate
in this County when Buddy Dickinson announces for Governor. I
nave very little doubt that unless things change drastically
that he will qualify. Of course, if I did run, and let me frankly
state that no decision has been made as yet, I could not take
sides publicly in the Governor's race.

I sincerely hape that you will be a candidate for Governor
for the reason previously expressed, and you can be assured that

regardless of future political happenings, that you will continue
to have my most sincere friendship, and admiration.
