SUEJECT: Statewide Broadcast by Farris Bryant April 17th

C. Ferris Bryant, brilliant young Ocelo attorney and outstanding member
of the Florida Legislature. is scheduled to openk in behalf of George Snathere over
a Stntowide radio network Monday night, April 17th. at 8:00 P.M., 3.5.T.

Chairmen having radio stations in their counties carrying the broadcast
have already been notified prior to this bulletin, and advised to schedule ad space
to publicize this broadcast. Enclosed is not that can be used in your ad cany.

Attached is a list of the stations connoainr the statewide network.
The following is no outline of the background and record of Mr. Eryant:

Bryant has been a member of the legislature since 19Q3 when he was
elected for his first term. He was unOppooed in eubeeouent cam-
paigns in l9&6. 'hB nnd 50 for the Florida House of Representatives
from arion County.

A graduate of the University of Florida in the class of '35. Bryant
finished Harvard law School in 1938. In 19? he led the fight in
the State Legislature against the sales tax bill and the public
utilities bill.

In 19a? he was voted the "most promising member of the House" as re-
sult of the "crocker poll" composed of House members. In l9h9 the
same poll named him the "moat valuable member of the House of Repre-
centotivea.

Confirming this appraisal, a 19h9 poll conducted by the St. Petersburg
Times in which political editors nnd writers throughout the otnte
voiced their opinion. Bryant was nominnted "the most valuable member
of the legislature."

In 19b7-b9 he was voted one of the "five outatnnding Florida Jnyceee,"
being the only Jaycee to win this honor twice.

Bryant is on innediote nest president of the Rotary Club of Ocnle,
immediate peat SXnIted Ruler of the benevolent and Protective Order
of Elks, Chairnnn of the board of Stewnrdo of the First Bartiet
Church of Ocnln where he teaches the men'o Bible Class, Dietrict
Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of Americn. member of the AmeriCnn
Legion. Veterans of Foreign Wars, end the Aloha Tau Omega socinl
fraternity.
