Dear Myrtle and Tom.

I really think you are the nicest peOple we know-l We
had such a marvelous time at your home: seeing you
at home; meeting your children; being with your and
our friends; being with you. I am sorry that we were
late not only hecauee I hate to be late for my own
party. but also because we hated not to have that
additional twenty minutes with you.

It was a shame we didn't have time to enjoy our suite.
The food. the owers. the comfo -- I can't think of

anything you forgot.

The Patrolman came on time and we made the plane
for a pleasant trip to Jacksonville. where I had just
an hour to take Julia home and come back. It is now
noon and I am writing you from my office in Washing-
ton.

We have our work cut out for us if the Democrats are
to carry the State in 68. and 1 mm the President will
be grateful to have you in charge. By the first of the
year I expect we will have plans formulated to improve
our position in Florida. particularly. But in the mean-
time. I am going to work on the university problem at
Orlamio and the citrus problem.

We look forward to seeing you again at our first oppor
tunity.
