Dear Julia and Farris:

I can't tell you how happy Alice and I were that
both of you were at the Conference this week. It

was such good fun to be with you and we thoroughly
en1oyed every minute we had together.

Alice is goinc to try very hard to get to Washing-
ton while you are there this trip. Julia, but it

doesnt look too promising. As I believe she told
you. she's committed to go to New York this coming
Tuesday morning for the balance of that week. but

hopes to get up to Washington with me for a few
days the week of October 3, and I know she will be

in touch with you directly if she's able to work
that out.
