Bishop Henley has invited approximately one hundred prominent Methodist laymen and
[htlr wives from all over Florida to our campus (or the weekend of January 29. At
th. last meeting of our Board of Trustees. the Bishop requested the lay members of
our Board and their wives to serve as hosts and hostesses for our guests. 1 hope
thJL you and Julia will be able to do this.

Tht weekend starts with "Open House" at the Bishop's residence on Saturday after-
noon. dinner a: the College Dining Room, and an evening of entertainment by the
Florida Southern College Choxr and Drama group in the Brnnsco-b Building. The
weekend will conclude with the Sunday morning worship service. with Chaplain
Stuart McRae preaching, and xinncr here at the College.

All our guescs-and this includes the members of our Board of Trustees-~will be
houSud in local motels. Several friends have provided the Bishop with suiiicient
funds to defray the entire oust of the weekend, including housing.

I believe that this will be one of the most significant events in the recent
history oi Florida Southern. The group invited is being called the President's
Council and I believe such a group can make a great contribution to the develop-
ment or the College.
