Dear Farris:

When we had no word from you about your travel plans
either Thursday evening or Friday morning. I tried
to call you before we left to make sure that you
were taken carv of, but couldnt find you either at
the Century Plaza or the Beverly Hilton so we as-

sumed that you had gotten out Thursday night. I
do hope our asnumption was correct.

We certainly d.d enjoy our visits with you at the
Conferenre and wished only that Julia could have
been along too.

You were most ;racious to try to find us to have
dinner with you, Ambassador Harriman, General Good-
paster and Walt Rostow Wednesday evening, but un-

fortunately for us we had gone on to the barbecue.
So sorry to have missed it.

Please do give our best to Julia and tell her how
much we missed her in California.
