Dear Governor Bryant:

It is indeed an honor to receive your letter of October 15. I
have read it with great interest. You can truly look back upon
your administration with pride.

It is appropriate, I believe, for me to take this opportunity to
acknowledge the debt of gratitude that I feel toward you. I
worked in your campaign at the lowest level of your Voluaia
County organization. My duties were principally in the sign,
poster, bumper strip. and parade area. The friendships and
acquaintances that I formed or strengthened while performing
what little I did were ample reward.

Despite my lowly contribution, however, you saw fit to appoint
me to the North East Voluaia Development Authority, then to
consider me for the East Voluaia Mosquito Control Board. and
before that appointment was effected, to appoint me as Volusia
County Small Claims Court Judge. The consideration you have
shown has obviously been enormously important to me. I am
pleased to tell you that I won the Democratic nomination for
the Judgeahip in May and have no opposition in November.

I am sorry that my duties as Executive Officer of our Naval
Reserve Surface Division kept me from seeing you on the recent
Tuesday evening when you were in Daytona Beach. I heard many
fine comments about your appearance here.

As the end of your term approaches I suspect that you begin to
realise anew the significance of the honor you have achieved.

I hope the office has brought you much happiness: I know it must
have brought immense satisfaction.

If you feel that I can be of service to you I hope you will call
upon me. with every good wish, I remain
