The excellent speech you gave to the Cowrnor's Conference on Civil Defense
won many new friends for you in Oklahoma Cople of your remarks are being
circulated to mayors and county officials all across the state. and should do
much to hasten the development of a satisfactory civil defenbe program atate-
wide.
1 fully realize the sacrifice you made in coming to Oklahoma. and hope at some
future date you will give me the opportunity to repay the favor.
Congratulations to you for the excellence of the Southern Governors Conference.
i am sure i ape-alt for all the Governors when l express regret that Floridas law
prohibits you from seeking a second term Shirley and i value the friendship of
you and Mrs. Bryant highly. and hope that over the years we may have frequent
occasion to see you again. Please stop and pay Uh a visit when your travels bring
you to Oklahoma.
