Dear Governor Bryant;

Thank you for sending no your extensive
report of your efforts as Governor of Florida. I shall see that
it is read by many.

In my judgment. your*ddninietration has
equalled that of the hon. hillard Caldwell in achievement as
well as in dedication. and firmness of principle.

However. I an disappointed, and somewhat
irritated (as are many other enthusiastic supportere) hy the
fact that you and our Senators were forced to some out in the
press in RULL support of the 'newest Frontisr' with all its
implications. Realizing the pressures which acre used, and the
threats or discrimination against Florida's Government contracts
for Hon-compliance, I regret deeply that politics can bring a-
bout such unnatural conformity.

It hae seemed to me that your successful
tern, inepite or much opposition from the press and others in
this area, would he a easy stepping-stone to the 0.8. Senate.
But it you are to he used as the chief voice or the Administra-
tion during the coming campaign, you will lose ouch of your hy-
partiean support throughout the State. There is a new picture
shaping up in the 3rass-reots which will make changed align-
ments everywhere.

However. I am still hoping for a brilliant
future for you. It you continue in politics. I want to mention
a can in the state Department of Education when I have been
watching. and who should advance in the Educational world. I
believe. 3c is Dr. Fred Turner. in charge or Curricuun. and
one who has learned a great deal about the Communist threat.
