Ir. Jauee c. Tretry
First Congregational Churoh
225 Interlaohen Avenue south
Winter Park, Florida

Dear Kr. Trerry:

I have given a great deal or thought to
your le ter of July 17, and to our visit
shortly before that. Much has transpired
here and around the nation to affect
Florida.

In my Judgment the eetablieh-ent or a
"Statewide Inter-Racial and Inter-
Religious Committee of One Hundred" would
aggravate an already difficult situation.
Florida ie doing so well in the handling
or its racial probleae that I think it
better not to tinker at thia point.

Sincerely,

Governor
PBzin
