The Honorable Farris Bryant :50 ': \L4
Governor, State of Florida
Capitol Building
Tallahassee, Florida

Dear Governor:

I tried to talk with you this morning before attending the meeting of the
"C. Farris Bryant Appreciation Day" at noon. 1 have just returned from the
meeting and want to give you some of the details.

The fonnat of the program is essentially: (l) a groundbreaking ceremony at
Central Florida Junior College, (2) a reception tentatively scheduled for
Golden Hills Country Club to be followed by (3) dinner at Golden Hills Country
Club. To quote Dr. Joseph Fordyce, Chairman of the comittee, "The program
for each event would hopefully be light and entertaining and yet indicative

of the progress and promise of the region. More specifically, each event has
been considered in great detail."

Following are the people and organizations in charge of the various committees:

Overall Committee

1. Dr. Joseph Fordyce, President, Central Florida Junior College
2. Hr. R. H. (Burt) Dosh

3. Hr. Billy Boyles, Central Florida Junior College

a. Hr. John Marshall Green

5. Hr. Randolph Tucker

6. Hr. Hilliam Svigart

7. Mr. A. M. Collins, Jr.

The various committees are:

1. Dinner o Ocala Jaycees

2. Dinner Program Junior Woman's Club

3. Groundbreaking Ceremonies Central Florida Junior College

h. Displays Merchants Committee of the Chamber of Commerce

5. Publicity and Promotion Chamber of Commerce

6. Invitations Hayor Hillard Ayres County Commission Chairman,
w. L. (Tommy) Tomlinson

-2-

After talking with Lucille, and finding that you would probably be out of the
country and/or busy the month of October, I suggested to the committee that

this be rescheduled for a later time. It was felt that because of various events
in November, this would probably be held durinr the early part of December. I

have been asked to contact you to determine an appropriate day during the month
of December.

Governor, I do hope that this has not gone beyond what you desire, but, I refer
you to correspOndence of July 20, August M, August 26, end your reply of August 5,
196a. These people are extremely interested and dedicated to do a fine job,
erefore, I urge you to accept the invitation and to set a date as soon as

possible.

I am most interested in hearing about the Democratic Convention and the plane for
the campaign.

Sincerely,

6W1

Randolph C. Tucker, Jr.
