The Honorable Farris Bryant
Governor
State of Florida
Tallahassee, Florida
Dear Farris:
My advance copy of Dr. John Slys manuscript of his
second report on taxation in Florida has just come in
and I hope you have received yours.
I understand from John that you have graciously agreed
to write a brief letter commending this report to the
consideration of the State, which I think is a wonder-
ful thing for you to do.
Would it be in any way offensive to you if I were to
ask Governor-Elect Burns to consider writing a similar
letter? It occurs to me that if the Council could
have letters both from you and from him. it would rep-
resent a significant endorsement of the work of the
Council and its continuity.
Should this suggestion be agreeable with you, I would
like very much to have a cepy of your letter as soon
as possible so that I might share it with Haydon.
with warmest personal regards and looking forward to
seeing you here next Monday evening. I am
Sincerely,
BHO:8
