NA1?3NAL GOVERNOR; .-.JSOC|ATI 6:73?

JAPAN
July 270 1961}
Mr. Brevard Crihfield
Secretary
Governers' Conference
1313 last Sixtieth Street
Chicago 37- Illinois. 0.3.A.
Dear Hr. Grihfisld.
1 I am enclosing herein a picture of yours and please accept
t.
I am happy to tell you that a report on the trip of the
Japanese governers' party to your country and the two business
sessions has at long last completed and a brochure will soon
be published from our office. Though it is written in Japanese
I will send one copy to you in due time.
Secondly. we have not yet received from the State of
Florida the packages of papers belonging to the Japanese govern-
ors. which we entrusted the official concerned of the State of
Florida and the souvenirs which were presented to the governors
by Governor Bryant of Florida.
Concerning this matter. we have received over a month ago
a copy of a to egram from the main office of the JAL in Tokyo.
which was addressed to the latter from a branch office in
Chicago. The contents of the telegram was that the branch
office was asked by the official concerned of the State of
Florida to send golf clubs and hand bags to Tokyo as business
cargos of the company. but the branch office refused the request.
Accordingly. I sent a letter to the official concerned
stating that we hope he will make contact with the branch office
of the Osaka Shosen Keisha in New York so that the articles may
be sent to us by payment on delivery. I interned so because
the 08K is a sister company of the Shosen Air Service co. and
I asked 1 top ranking official of the company to proviso every
convenience in sending the articles through the branch office
of the 08! in ew York. Furthermore. I informed the official
that the packages of papers may be sent through the American
Embassy. Since then it had passed more than one month. but I
have received no answer even now.
Governor Hetsuno of Gifu Prefecture requested us to make
necessary procedure so that his packages of papers and others
which he left in Florida may be sent at an earliest convenience.
In consideration of these circumstances. I hope personally
that you will kindly make contact with the official concerned
of the Sta to of Florida at your earliest convenience to inquire
the circumstances.
Expecti to have your answer and wishing for your continu-
ed heslth a n happiness.
Yours sincerely,
Kasakiohi Ocawa ;
An' 'vsmr
