Dear Farris:

When Freda and i talked to you at the barbecue Saturday at
Gainesville, you mentioned that you would be calling upon

ua at the appropriate time to lend some help. i gathered

by our conversation that you have definitely aade up your

mind to be a candidate and were letting us in on that in-

formation. Please confirm.

Rest assured that l{ partner, Brad Smith. and lyaelf will
do everything poeel le to get all the vote: no can down

here in thle Republican area for you. i eoaetlnee think

ne Republicans outnumber the Democrats about 500 to one
