Dear Farris:
My request for committee assignments for the 1953 session are as follows.
No. 1. Citrus: I am a "Small" grower in the Indian River area.
No. 2. Education A; have served on the education committee since l9t7.
During that time have kept in close contact with
local school officials, and will continue to do so.
No. 3. Public Roads: Due to the fact it is most likely that a Toll Hi-
way will be an issue during the next session and
as Brevard County is more than seventy miles in
length along the coast it would certainly be af-
fected one way or another. So, I feel that Brevard
should certainly be represented on that committee.
No. L. Appropiations: My reason for asking for this assignment could be
termed selfish. I served on this committee in the
forty nine session and believe I learned more about
our state government and its operations than I did
on all the rest of the committees combined. Feel that
I would be able to sender better service due to the
experience gained in l9h9.
No. 5. Public Utilities: There is a minor problem in the South end of
the county that needs correcting. I told the peo-
ple in that area during the cam ai I would assist
them in getting it corrected. es I would be in
better position to do so by being on this committee.
It is my belief and certainly my desire that the comingsession will be a
outstanding one, and want you to feel free to call upon me at anytime
you feel I can be or assistance in obtaining that goal.
