Dear Farris:
I couldn't pass up this opportunity to congratulate you on the
fine appearance you nade on VCTV last Friday. Not only was it
a lost interesting and informative program, but it was especially
good to see you carrying on in your usual splendid manner.
I know you will be glad to learn that I an writing this fro. the
Clerk's office where I now have a small full-time staff. so
have been vory busy in the short tine the office has been open
daily, and the requests for information and assistance continue
to grow steadily in number along with the usual between-sessions
duties. You lust know how tresendously glad I as to hsve the
opportunity to give full attention to the duties of this office,
and I feel sure that the added services provided for the House
aanbers will prove not only helpful to the Legislature but bene-
ficial to our State as well.
Ion will certainly be missed here at the House. o o! the staff,
especially, shall feel a genuine loss in not having your helpful-
ness and guidance; but I know that the important contribution
you have aade to our State through your outstanding work as
Speaker and aenber or the House will nevor be forgotten.
It has been a real privilege and pleasure knowing and working
with you during thase past yoars, and no words can adequately
express my heartfelt appreciation for all the fine things you
have done for no. the nany kindnesses and oourtesies you have
shown no and your nevertailing thoughtfulness and consideration
will alwsys be treasured.
