Dear Farris:
We were all thrilled to see and hear your visage as! words than you
seconded Smethers' nomimtion at the Los Angels: Convention last week.
I felt. that. your speech hit the nail on the head and that. your delivery
no superior by for to 99% of the others who stood on the rostrum and
shoes words went out on TV.
Last. seek Bill Norris and Bruce Garwood came up to Peabody Hell and I
answered a few of their questions and loaded them down with materials
dealing with the executive and other departments of tin f-lorida govern-
ment. And, as always, I'll be me to give a hand whenever possible.
I on working along with ideas for reorganization am streamlining of
the motor Vehicle family agencies and will have some rough ideas to
present to you sometime in August.
I an interested in the position of Motor Vehicle Cwmissionm. I think
this post, which entails but little discretion, should be abolished and
the office and responsibilities transferred to another office.
On this basis, I would like to serve as Motor Vehicle Omnssmner from
January 3, 1961 until the office has been abolished by the 1961 Law-
1ature,should such reorganization plans be enacted into let. I 001116.
