Dear Mr. Hartnett:
Please forgive our delay in responding to your
letter of March 22, but we have had some difficulty in deter-
mining the actual status of the various claims arising from
the untortunate Roosevelt Hotel tire.
As nearly as we can detereine, the claims are presently
being consolidated and handled by about three (3) firms in
the City of Jacksonville. The insurance carrier, United states
fidelity and Guaranty Many, has taken the position that a
eettlement of individual claims would unduly prejudice its
position in regard to the remaining actions: therefore. it
appears that it will be a considerable length at time before
action will be forthcoming on any of the claims.
With these thoughts in mind, and with due regard for
the best interests or all concerned, we must decline your offer
to associate us in pursuing this matter: however, we shall be
happy to reter you to another firm in Jacksonville if you eo
desire. we are returning herewith the tile which you have
previously forwarded to us.
