Governor Farris Bryant
State of Florida
Tallahassee, Florida
Dear Farris:
Please forgive my long delay in sending my congratulations on the
fine job you did with your administration. Max Brewer invited me
to the testimonial dinner at the Cherry Plaza Hotel in Orlando some
months back but two days before the dinner I became ill and was
unable to attend.
You have had a splendid administration. one of which we are all
proud. I hope you will allow me the opportunity to work long and
hard in your behalf should you decide to seek public office again.
Ihave always felt remorseful because I did not give you an all out
effort when you were elected governor, but as you know, I was
committed to Mr. J. Edwin Larson at the time and I felt that I
should honor my commitment.
I am not very optimistic about the condition of the State six years
from now if our present Governor stays in that long. but as one of
our competing insurance companies advertises, I felt we were "in
good hands" while you were in office. Frankly. this is probably one
reason why I have put off writing to you. I felt that things were being
well taken care of. I didn't have to keep up with the day to day news
as I feel that I do now.
I am beginning to ramble a little so will sign off now. I hope that the
next time you are in Miami you will give me a call and now that you
have a little more leisure time we will have an opportunity to visit
again.
With warm personal regards, I remain
Sincerely yours,
z/M
