IN THE MATTER OF THE LAND ACQUISITION ORDINANCE, 1946,
(No. 22 of 1946).
AND
IN THE MATTER of a Declaration made by the Governor in Council that certain
lots of land situate in the town of Kingstown in the Island of Saint Vincent
are to be acquired for a public purpose.
DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND.
(Second Publication).
WHEREAS it is enacted by section 3 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance, 1946,
(No. 22 of 1946) that if the Governor in Council considers that any land should be
acquired for a public purpose he may cause a declaration to that effect to be made;
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor in Council that the land
mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto should be acquired for a public
purpose, that is to say, the construction of public offices and a bond warehouse -
Now THEREFORE it is hereby declared by the Governor in Council that the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall be acquired for the abovementioned purpose
and shall vest absolutely in the Crown upon the second publication of this
Declaration in the Gazette.
AND IT Is HEREBY FURTHER DECLARED AND NOTIFIED that a plan of the said land
may be inspected during working hours at the Registry in the town of Kingstown
in the said Colony.
SCHEDULE.
All that lot piece or parcel of land being part of town lot number fourteen in
the town of Kingstown in the Island of Saint Vincent. And all that lot piece or
parcel of land being town lot number fifteen in the said town which said part of
lot fourteen and lot fifteen are described in and by the plan or diagram thereof
drawn in the Schedule to an Indenture made the fourteenth day of September
eighteen hundred and ninety-nine and ieccrded in liber W 5 in the Registry of
Deeds on the twenty-third day of October of the same year between Edward
Leycester Atkinson and Jane Ann his wife (formerly Jane Ann Hazell) of the first
part, the Reverend John Spencer Hughes of the second part, His Honour Harry

Langhorne Thompson and Ellinor Flora Bosworth his wife of the third part and the

or heretofore enjoyed or reputed as part or member thereof or appurtenant thereto.
The approximate area of the lots of land hereinabove described is 12, 611 square
feet.

RULES AND ORDERS, 1954, No. 1.
ST. VINCENT GRAMMAR SCHOOL (UNIFORMS) RULES.
(Gazetted 18th May, 1954).
1. Short title. These Rules may be cited as the St. Vincent Grammar
School (Uniforms) Rules, 1954.
2. Interpretation. In these Rules-
Lower School boy and Upper School boy mean, respectively, a pupil in
one of the lower forms of the St. Vincent Grammar School, and a pupil in
one of theupper forms of the St. Vincent Grammar School;
School means the St. Vincent Grammar School.
3. Uniforms for Lower School boys. Every Lower School boy shall
attend School dressed in short khaki trousers, a khaki shirt and a School cap.
4. Uniforms for Upper School boys. (1) Subject to the provisions of
paragraph (3) of this rule, every Upper School boy shall attend School dressed in
long grey flannel trousers, a white shirt and a School tie.
(2) Every Upper School boy shall, on special occasions wear, in addition to the
uniform prescribed by paragraph (1) of this rule, a School blazer bearing on the
left upper pocket, the crest of the School.
(3) The Headmaster of the School may grant permission to any Upper School
boy to wear the short trousers prescribed for a Lower School boy if, having regard
to the age and size of such Upper School boy, it is expedient to grant such
permission.
5. School cap, blazer and crest. The School cap, blazer and crest shall
be of the types at present in use for the School, or of such other types as may from
time to time be prescribed by Rules made by the Governor in Council.
6. Headmaster's powers. The Headmaster of the School may, in his
discretion, refuse to admit to the School, or to retain in the School, any Lower
School boy or Upper School boy who fails to comply with any of the provisions of
these Rules.
7. Commencement. These Rules shall come into operation at the
beginning of the First School Term in the year 1955.
