be given:--

VACANT POST-ASSIOTANAT
FISHERIES OFFICER
MINISTRY OF TRADE, AGRICULTURE
AND GRENADINES AFFAIRS.
Applications are invited from suit-
ably qualified persons for the post of
Assistant Fisheries Officer, Department
of Agriculture, Ministry of Trade,
Agriculture and Grenadines Affairs.
The post is non-pensionable and in
the salary scale V40-20-$1680X$60
-$1800 X< $120 $2520 X $180 -
$3600/$3840 X $240 $4800 X $300
-$5100. Transport allowance at the
approved rate is also payable.
The officer will be required to
observe the methods and problems of
fishermen and to advise them on im-
provement of fishing gear, methods of
fishing, preservation of fish, selection
and purchase of equipment etc.
He will be required to explore means
of improving the marketing of fish, to
collect statistics, to encourage the
formation of fisheries associations and
co-operatives and to ensure the enforce-
ment of legislation pertaining to the
protection of the Fishing Industry.
He will be requested to perform such
other duties relating to the Industry
which may be assigned to him by the
Chief Agricultural Officer.
Preference may be given to appli-
cants with (a) experience in fishing
and/or having a sea-faring background
and (b) Passes at Ordinary Level in
the General Certificate of Education or
equivalent Standard particularly in
English Language and Mathematics.
Applications supported by two recent
testimonials should be addressed to the
Chief Personnel Officer, Service Com-
missions Department, Kingstown, to
reach him not later than 13th August,
1973.

POST OF ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
LIBERTY LODGE TRAINING CENTRE.
Applications are hereby invited for
the post of Assistant Director, Liberty
Lodge Train ng Centre, in the Ministry
of Home Affairs, Labour and Tourism.
The successful applicant will be re-
quired to live on the compound where
furnished quarters are available. The
Officer will be required to pay a rental
in accordance with the Civil Service
Orders.
Preference will be given to a young
married man between the ages of 2S
to 38 years who has at least five (5)
G.C.E. 'O' Level subjects and a genuine
interest in the welfare and social reha-
bilitation of deprived and homeless
persons. Arrangements will also be
made for training abroad after some
time has been spent at the school.
The salary of the post is in the scale
V19-14 $5400 X $300 $6600/000
-$6960.
