VACANT POST OF ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR;
ELECTRICAL DIVISION; PUBLIC WORKS
DEPARTMENT, MINISTRY OF COMMUNICA-
TIONS AND WORKS, ST. VINCENT
Applications are invited from suit-
ably qualified persons for appointment
to the above-mentioned post.
Qualifications:
Higher 'National Diploma or Higher
National Certificate qualification or
the equivalent will 'be required with
five years experience in inspectorate
work.
Graduate qualification with suitable
experience may be given preference
and salary consideration.


Salary:
The salary of the prost is in the
scale V 14-12 $6,960 x $360-$7,680.
Transport allowance will be payable
in accordance with local regulations.
Duties:
The Inspector will be responsible for
the Inspection of all Public Electrical
Installations throughout the State of
St. Vincent and for the issuing of
certificates for such installations.
He will also be responsible for the
maintenance of all Government in-
stallations and will be required to
take charge of the Public Works De-
partment's Electrical Division.
Appointment:
The appointment to the above post
may be either on a permanent and
pemionable basis or on agreement for
a period of three (3) years.

Applicants should furnish evidence
of qualifications, competence and abil-
ity together with two, (2) recent testi-
monials and should forward these to
the Chief Personnel Officer, Service
Commissions Department, Kingstown,
St. Vincent, to reach him not later
than 1st July, 1972.

It is hereby notified for general information that in the event of a hurricane
threatening or approaching the Island, the following warnings will be given:-


CAUTIONARY HURRICANE
WARNING.
KINGSTOWN: (1) A red flag with a black
rectangular centre will be
flown from Police Head-
quarters.

(2) Loudspeaker and Radio
Announcements.
(3) Three saluting guns will
be fired.

RURAL AREAS: (1) A red flag with a black
rectangular centre will be
flown from Police Stations.

(2) Loudspeaker and Radio
Announcements.

FINAL HURRICANE
WARNING
(1) Two red flags with black
rectangular centres one
above the other will be
flown on Police Head-

(2) Church Bells will ring for
5 minutes.
(3) The siren will blow for

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES ORDINANCE, 1952.

NOTICE


In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (2) of Seation 3 of the
Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952, notice is hereby given that subject
to the consideration of any objections which may be received by him pursuant
to this Notice, the Governor proposes under sub-section (1) of section 3 of
the said Ordinance to make an Order in the form set out in Schedule hereto.

2. Any person who objects to the making of such Order is hereby in-
vited to give notice in writing of his objection and of the grounds on which he
relies in support thereof, to the Secretary to the Cabinet at the Premier's
Office in Kingstown, on or before the 5th day of July, 1972.

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES (MEAT AND MEAT PRODUCTS
PROCESSING AND PACKAGING) ORDER.


(Gazetted 1972).


1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries
(Meat and Meat Products Processing and Packaging) Order, 1972.

2. Declaration. The establishment maintenance and operation in Saint
Vincent of plant for the processing and packaging of meats including beef, pork
and mutton and for the manufacture and packaging of meat products including
'ham, bacon, sausage and lard is hereby declared to be a pioneer industry for
the purposes of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952, and meats and
meat products so processed and packaged are hereby declared to be pioneer,
products for the said purposes.


Made by the Governor under section 3 (1) of the Aid to Pioneer Industries
Ordinance, 1952, (No. 5 of 1952) this day of 1972.

POLICE NOTICE


THE OWNERS OF PUBLIC
SERVICE VEHICLES; GOODS
VEHICLES AND TRAILERS
(H.T., R. & T. PLATES)


The attention of persons who own the
type of vehicles mentioned above is
drawn to the provisions contained in
Regulations 20 and 21 and all amend-
ments thereto of the Motor Vehicles and
Road Traffic Regulations 1959, whereby
no licence may be issued or renewed for
such vehicles unless the Inspector certi-
fies that the vehicle complies with all
the provisions of the Ordinance and
these Regulations.

The Inspector of Motor Vehicles will
be available at Police Headquarters
daily from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. except
on Sunday and Public Holidays to en-
sure that all the abovementioned vehicles
are inspected and are road-worthy be-
fore 31st July, 1972.

Regulations 20 (6) requires that these
vehicles are examined twice annually,
that is before 30th June and 31st De-
cember each year.

WARNING
Vehicles which have not been pre-
sented or if presented have not passed


the examination by 31st July, 1972 will
be taken off the road.

NOTICE

The Public is hereby reminded that in
accordance with the Birds and Fish Pro-
tection Ordinance Cap. 44 as amended, it
is prohibited to kill or take:-
TURTLES
(a) Turtles or turtle eggs on land
(b) Turtles under 20 lbs. in weight
LOBSTERS
(a) Lobsters carrying eggs
(b) Lobsters of less than 1 lb. in
weight
(c) Lobsters of less than nine inches
in length.
CLOSED SEASONS:
There is a closed season for turtles
between 1st May and 31st July, and a
closed season for lobsters between 1st
May and 30th Septomber.
Any person failing to comply with the
regulations mentioned above, will be
fined $24.00 or in default imprisonment
with or without hard labour for a term
npt exceeding 3 months.
