The resignations, vacating of office and appointments recorded hereunder
and occurring in the week ended 15th April, 1972 are notified for public infor-
mation. It will be noted that the Hon. R. M. CATO was not any time during the
week appointed or re-appointed as Premier.

RESIGNATION OF MINISTERS
On 11th April, 1972, the Honourables S. E. SLATER and RODERICK F.
MARKSMAN tendered to His Excellency the Governor their resignations as.
Ministers.
APPOINTMENT OF MINISTERS
On 11th April, 1972, His Excellency the Governor, acting in accordance
with the advice of the Premier appointed the Honourable CHARLES ST. CLAIR,
DACON and the Honourable ARTHUR THEOPHILUS WOODS as Ministers.
RESIGNATION OF PREMIER
On 13th April, 1972 the Honourable ROBERT MILTON CATO Premier tendered
his resignation from that office to His Excellency the Governor. Mr. CATO hadA
assumed office as Premier on 27th October, 1969.
APPOINTMENT OF PREMIER
On the 14th April, 1972 His Excellency the Governor appointed the Hon--
ourable JAMES FITZ-ALLEN MITCHELL as Premier.

On the appointment of the Honourable JAMES FITZ-ALLEN MITCHELL as
Premier on 14th April, 1972, the offices of Minister held by Honourables HUDSON
K. TENNIS, LEVI CALVERT LATHAM, CHARLES ST. CLAIR DACON and ARTHUR
TIEOPHILUS WOODS became vacant.

APPOINTMENT OF MINISTERS
On 14th April, 1972 His Excellency the Governor acting on the advice of
the Premier appointed the following persons as Ministers:-
The Honourables EBENEZER THEODORE JOSHUA, OTHINEIL RUDOLPH
SYLVESTER, VICTOR IVOR CUFFY, CLIVE LEONARD TENNIS and ALPHONSO
ALPIIAEUS DENNIE.

APPOINTMENT OF PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY
On 14th April, 1972, His Excellency the Governor appointed the Honourable
IvY INEZ JoSHUA as a Parliamentary Secretary.

3. Qualifications: The applicant
should be conversant with Gov-
ernment accounting system, and
with the organisation of the
Government service.
4. The qualities sought for in the

are:
a) Maturity, imagination, crea-
tiveness and receptiveness to
new ideas.
b) The ability to communicate
with other people in the pre-
sentation of new systems.
c) Methodical working and pre-
cision.
d) The ability to work with a
disciplined adherence to pre-
scribed standards.
e) The ability to work in a
team.
It would be an advantage if
applicants have a knowledge
of the work of Government
and General Data Processing
duties.

5. Educational Standards: The ap-
plicant should be in possession of at
least three (3) '0' Level subjects in-
cluding Mathematics and English, or
the equivalent.

6. Training: Applicants on a short
list will be given a logic aptitude test,
and only those who attain the required
standard -will be considered further.
The successful applicant will be ap-
pointed System Analyst/Programmer,
on probation and will receive practical
training in St. Vincent for approxi-
mately six to seven months.

On the satisfactory completion of
this period of practical training the
officer will be sent to the I.C.L. train-
ing school in Trinidad for a further
residential course.

7. Salary Scale: V 26-21-$3,600
x $240-$4,800, on satisfactory com-


pletion of the probationary period the
successful candidate will be promoted
to sca'e V 20-15 -- $5,100 x $300 -
$6,600. 4

8. Equipment and Scope of Data
Processing Department: the Depart-
ment is equipped with an ICL 1901 A.
Computer Configuration, 16K. Core
Storage, Double Twin Discs.

9. The following are the routines
which are on the computer at Dres-
ent:-
a) Financial Accounting
b) Monthly Payroll of Civil Ser-
vants
c) Trade Statistics
d) P.W.D. Unallocated Stores
e) Income Tax Assessments.

10. Applications accompanied by two

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES ORDINANCE, 1952.

NOTICE

In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (2) of Section 3 of the
Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952, notice is hereby given that subject
to the consideration of any objections which may be received by him pursuant
to this Notice, the Governor proposes under sub-section (1) of section 3 of the
said Ordinance to make an Order in the form set out in the Schedule hereto.

2. Any person who objects to the making of such Order is hereby invited
to give notice in writing of his objection and of the grounds on which he relies
in sup-port thereof, to the Secretary to the Cabinet at the Premier's Office in
Kingstown, on or before the 25th day of April 1972.

STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS,
1972, No.

AID TO PIONEER INDUSTRIES (PROCESSING OF LOCAL FOOD
OR OF LOCAL FOOD PRODUCTS) ORDER.

(Gazetted 1972).

1. Short title. This Order may be cited as the Aid to Pioneer Industries:
(Processing of Local Food or of Local Food Products) Order, 1972.
2. Declaration. The establishment, maintenance and operation in the,
State of plant for the canning, bottling or other processing for preservation
of local food or of local food products is hereby declared to be a pioneer indus-
try for the purposes of the Aid to Pioneer Industries Ordinance, 1952, and
local food or local food products so canned, bottled or otherwise procesesd for
preservation are hereby declared to be pioneer products for the said purposes.
3. Cancellation. Without prejudice to any Order made pursuant thereto,
the Aid to Pioneer Industries (Canning of Local Food Products) Order, 1966:
(No. 15 of 1966) is hereby cancelled.


Made by the Governor under section 3 (1) of the Aid to Pioneer Industries.

missioner of Police acting in accord-
ance with the provisions of Section 13
(3) of Ordinance No. 30 of 1956, has
given approval to Mr. Eyon Cato of
Behmont for the storage of Diesel Fuel
at Belmont.
The amount stored at any one time
shall not exceed 600 Imperial Gallons.
