Applications are invited for the post
of Maintenance Officer in the Electrical
Division, Public Works Department,
Ministry of Communications, Works
and Labour.
Details of Post.
The post requires that the Mainten-
ance Officer undertake the Mainten-
ance of all Government Electrical
installations. The Officer will also be
responsible for the wiring of all Gov-
ernment Buildings and Projects.
Salary:
V 28-20 $3,240 x $180-$3,600 x
$240-$4,800 x $300-$5,100.
Allowance:
A transport allowance shall be pay-
able in accordance with local regula-
tions.
Qualifisation:
A wireman's licence with not less
than five '(5) ;years experience. .

recent testimonials should be forward-
ed to'the Chief' Personnel Officer. Ser-

CUSTOMS NOTICE
The Brussels Tariff Classification
System will shortly be introduced in the
State in keeping with a decision of the
Council of Ministers of the Caribbean
Free Trade Association that the Brus-
sels Tariff Nomenclature should be
adopted by Carifta Countries so as to
achieve uniformity in the classification
of goods for customs purposes.
The Commonwealth Caribbean Re-
gional Secretariat has prepared a bro-
chure entitled 'The Brussels Tariff
Nomenclature' for the benefit of impor-
ters and exporters who would wish to
know something of the new system be-
fore it becomes operative.
The brochure, which describes the
main features of the Nomenclature, can
be obtained at the Custom House, Kings-
town, for the price of one dollar.

INCOME TAX NOTICE
TO ALL EMPLOYED PERSONS
Every person deriving Income from
any employment or by way of pension
is hereby reminded that the latest date
for the submission of Income Tax
Returns for Assessment in the year
1972 is the 31st January, 1972, and
that failure to give notice of charge-
ability is an offence against the Income
Tax Ordinance, rendering the person
concerned liable on .conviction to a
fine. not exceeding ONE THOUSAND
DOLLARS and in, default of payment
to imprisonment with or without hard
labour for a term not exceeding four
months, and after judgement has been
given for that penalty to a further
penalty of fifty dollars for every, day
during which the refusal, failing or
neglect to render any document con-
tinues.
2. EVERY PERSON: whose income
accruing in, derived from the State
or elsewhere and whether received in
the State or not for the preceding
year, exceeded the statutory limit of
$600.00 is required to submit a return
on the prescribed form notwithstand-
ing that on account of approved de-
ductions no tax may eventually be.
chargeable, and particular attention
is directed to the fact that the term
"income" is deemed to include not only-
money but also allowances in kind.
3. Efforts are being made to send
forms to such persons through their
Employers or Heads of Departments
(in the case of Government Employ-
ees). It is to be clearly understood,.
however, that the Income Tax Depart-
ment is under no obligation to send a
return to anyone and that a person is
not exonerated from the statutory
liability of making a return even
though a form may not have been
received from the Department. Forms,
may be obtained, on application at the-
Revenue Office at Georgetown, Bar-
rouallie, Bequia and Union Island, or-
in any other district from the Police
Station situated therein, or from the
Income Tax Office, Kingstown, where-
any person requiring information in
connection therewith is invited to en-.
quire.
4. Where officers are in receipt of-
income other than salaries the form
should include particulars thereof and
should be accompanied by the neces--
sary supporting statements.

PARKING ARRANGEMENTS
Buses and Trucks carrying Advertising Bands will enter through the
Western gate, drop performers a.,d exit as directed by the Police.
Leeward Buses will park on the open space behind the General Hospital
Annexe. ,
Windward Buses will park on the parking lot outside Memorial Hall and
Richmond Hill School Grounds. .

Taxis which usually park on the Park Stand on Hillboro Street will park
,on the Park Stand on the Eastern side of the Court House.
Buses and Trucks from the Windward area will not be permitted to pro-
ceed further than the Memorial Hall, between the hours of 7.00 a.m. and
7.00 p.m.
Buses and Trucks from the Leeward area will not be permitted to pro-
ceed further than Bentinck Square, between the hours of 7.00 a.m. and
7.00 p.m.

Between the hours of 1.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. the following streets will
be closed to all vehicular Traffic:-

Street (U.T.L. Corner) and FORESTER'S CORNER.
3. MIDDLE STREET-between James Street and McCoy Streets.
4. ALL CROSS STREETS-between James Street and McCoy Street.
Bands only will be permitted along these Streets during the period stated.
