Home for the Aged Poor and the Mental

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for appointment to the
vacant post of Junior District Overseer
of Roads, Roads Division, Public Works
Department, Ministry for Communica-
tions, Works & Labour.
2. The Salary attached to the post is
in the scale V38-25-$1,800 x $120-
$2,520 x $180-$3,600 x $240-$3,840.
Transport allowance is payable in ac-
cordance with existing local regulations.
3. Duties Overseers are required to
carry out the day to day supervision of
maintenance and construction work on
the roads of all classes in the districts
to which they are assigned. Successful
applicants will be required to reside and
-work in any of the Road Districts in St.
Vincent or the Grenadines.
4. Applicants who possess G.C.E. '0'
Level Certificates in Mathematics and
English or have experience in the Build-
ing trades may be given preference.

Duties:
The duties of the post include com-

and a general knowledge of printing.

on the qualifications and experience of
the successful applicant.

ment to the post of Co-operative Field
Officer, Co-operative Division, Ministry
for Housing, Local Government and
Community Development.
2. The post is pensionable.
3. The salary attached to the post is
in the scale $3,600 x $240-$4,800 x $300
--$6,600.
4. Candidates must be interested in
Co-operative work; should enjoy work-
ing among groups of people; and be
willing to work outside normal work-
ing hours. Preference will be given to
candidates with a Diploma in Co-opera-
tives; some knowledge of book-keeping
and Commercial Business methods and/
or practical experience in auditing.
5. The successful candidate will be
required to keep a motor-car for the
performance of his duties and will be
paid travelling according to existing
rates in the Territory.

Saint Vincent Technical College
The following courses of study will be
offered by the St. Vincent Technical
College for the 1971-72 session com-
mencing 27th September, 1971.
1. These courses are designed to give
initial training to prospective craftsmen.
The training will consist of a full-time
course of two years duration after which
the students will be expected to continue
their training by seeking employment in
industry.
Courses will be offered in the follow-
ing crafts:-
(a) Mechanical Engineering;
(b) Automobile Engineering;
(c) Agricultural Engineering;
(d) Electrical Engineering;
(e) Refrigeration Engineering;
(f) Blocklaying and Concrete
Practice;
(g) Carpentry and Joinery;
(h) Plumbing and Pipe Fitting.
Entry Qualifications
Applicants for Basic Craft Courses
must be at least fifteen (15) years of
age and possess a Primary School Leav-
ing Certificate.
Fees.
The course fees will be $135.00 per
annum (3 terms) payable in advance.
2. General Technical Courses.
These courses are designed for the
training of Junior Supervisors or Fore-
men in the various trades in industry.
The training will consist of full-time
courses of two years duration. The
course will be of a general nature cover.
ing the fields of:-
(a) General Engineering
(b) General Building and Con-
struction.
Entry Qualifications.
Applicants for General Engineering-
courses must have completed a full see-
ondary school education and have at
least three G.C.E. "0" level passes in-
cluding English, Mathematics and one,
Science subject.
Fees.
The course fee will be $270.00 per-
annum (3 terms) payable in advance.
3. Secretarial Course.
This is a full-time course of one year
duration provided for the training of
Shorthand Typists.
Entry Qualifications.
Applicants for the Secretarial Course
must have completed a full secondary,
school education and passed in two or:
more G.C.E. "0" level subjects includ-
ing English Language.

4. Clerical Course.
This is a full-time course of one year
duration provided for the training of

Applicants for the Clerical Course
must be at least fifteen (15) years of
age and possess a Primary School Leav-
ing Certificate.
Fees.
The fee for the course will be $180.00
per annum (3 terms) payable in ad-
vance.
5. Part-time Commercial Coutrscs.
Part-time courses, requiring attend-
anoe at the College for one evening
each week. will be offered to persons
employed in Commercial and Business
Organizations who wish to increase their
proficiency in the office skills. Indi-
vidual courses will be provided in the
specialised subjects of Book-keeping,
Shorthand, Typewriting and Commer-
cial Arithmetic.
Fees.
The fees for the individual courses
will be $120.00 per annum (3 terms)
payable in advance.
