nroved the appointment of Mr. P. R.
Cox, Assistant Superintendent of Po-
lice to act as Superintendent of Prisons,
Prisons Department, Ministry of Home
Affairs with effect from 1st February,
1971 and until further notice.

VACANT POST

Applications are invited for the post
of Accounts Clerk in the St. Vincent
Development Corporation. In the ini-
tial months a chartered accountant will
be assisting in the establishment of the
Corporation and the successful appli-
cant will be expected to assist and un-
der study him.
The Accounts Clerk, if he proves


suitable, would be sent for training in
order to qualify as an accountant. Pre-
ference would therefore be given to per-
sons with at least two G.C.E. 'A' Levels.
and Mathematics at '0' Level. Salary
range would be from $150.00-$300.00
per month and the initial salary would
depend on the experience and qualifica-
tions of the applicant.

reach him no later than February 5thl

1,000 BBL. Diesel Tank at Bequia on be-
half of Messrs. Esso Standard Oil S.A.
Limited for the storage of Gasolene and
Diesel Fuel.
The amount stored at any one time
shall not exceed twenty-five tons.

$600.00 is required to submit a return
in the prescribed form notwithstand-
ing that on account of approved de-
ductions no tax may eventually be
chargeable, and particular attention is
directed to the fact that the term
"income" is deemed to include not
only money but also allowances in
kind.
3. Efforts are being made to send
forms to such persons. It is to be
clearly understood, however, that the
Income Tax Department is under no
obligation to send a return form to
nilyoie and that a person is not exon-
erated from the statutory liability of
mak'ng a return even though a form
may not have been received from 1he
Department. Forms may be obtained,
on'i anplieaton, at the Revenue Offices
at Georgetown, Barrouallic, Beqiia
and Union Island, or in any other
district from the Police Station s t-

4. The form correctly completed

IN THE MATTER OF THE LAND ACQUISITION ORDINANCE, 1946.

(No. 22 of 1946).



PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION.



(Under Section i of the Ordinance)






WIiEREAS it is enacted by Section 4 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
(No. 22 of 1946) that if the Governor considers that any land may be required
for a public purpose and it is necessary to make a preliminary survey or
other investigation of the land, he may cause notification to that effect to be
published in the Gazette:

AND WHEREAS the Governor considers that a portion of land approxi-
Tnately five acres in extent in the Parish of St. David the property said to
belong to Edwin Steers and others is likely to be acquired for a public purpose,
to wit, village rehabilitation:

AND WHEREAS it is necessary to make a preliminary survey of the said
portion of land;

Now THEREFORE this is to require all persons interested to allow the
Authorised Officer (and his agents, assistants and workmen):
(a) to enter upon and survey and take levels of any land in any locality to
which notification relates;
(b) to dig or bore into the subsoil of such land;
(c) to do all other acts necessary to ascertain whether the land is adapted
to such purpose;
(d) to set out the boundaries of the land intended to be taken, and the
intended line of the work, if any, proposed to be done thereon;
(e) to mark levels and lines by placing marks and cutting trenches;
(f) where otherwise the survey cannot be completed, the levels taken or
the boundaries or line of work set out, to cut down and clear away
any standing crop, fence, tree or bush;
'(g) to do all such other acts as may be incidental to, or necessary for, any
of the purposes aforesaid.
