IN THE MATTER of the ACQUISITION by the Governor of a certain parcel
of land at Paget Farm, Bequia.
DECLARATION OF ACQUISITION OF LAND.
(FIRST PUBLICATION.)
WHEREAS it is enacted by Section 3 of the Land Acquisition Ordinance
1946 (No. 22 of 1946) that if the Governor considers that any land should be
acquired for a public purpose he may cause a declaration to that effect to be
made:
AND WHEREAS it is considered by the Governor that the undermentioned
parcels of land should be acquired for a public purpose to wit, the siting of a
Public Cemetery and Right of way to same.
Now IT Is HEREBY DECLARED by the Governor of Saint Vincent that upon
the 2nd Publication of this Declaration in the Gazette all those parcels of land
at Paget Farm in the parish of The Grenadines the property of the Heirs of
Edward Olliviere measuring 2 A. 0 R. 0 P. and 5,864 sq. ft. respectively shall
vest absolutely in the Crown.
AND IT Is HEREBY FURTHER DECLARED AND NOTIFIED that a Plan bearing
the Number GR/1 showing the above mentioned parcels of land has been prepared
by CUTHBERT BAZIL, Licensed Land Surveyor and lodged on the 27th day of
January, 1970, at the Lands and Surveys Department of Kingstown in Saint
Vincent and can be inspected at all reasonable hours at the said Department.

RE-OPENING OF BURIAL GROUND
Notice is hereby given that in accord-
ance with section 3 (1) of the Burial
Grounds Ordinance, 1951 (No. 1 of
1951), the Governor has set apart and
licensed as a Public Burial Ground a
parcel of Crown land situated at Villa
Point, Park Hill and more particularly
described in the Schedule hereto:-

One parcel of land containing one (1)
Acre five (5) perches bounded on the
North by the Park Hill Canal, on the
South by the main road to Colonarie, on
the East by lands of the Heirs of John
DeFreitas on the West by lands of
Henry DeFreitas or as the same is more
particularly shown on a plan drawn by
Cuthbert Bazil, Land Surveyor, in the
month of April, 1970, and approved and
lodged in the Surveys Office on the 18th
of April, 1970 and numbered Survey
Plan C. 344.

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for the award of
scholarships tenable in New Zealand, un-
der the Commonwealth Education
Scheme's Mutual Aid Programme, for
the academic year commencing in
March 1971.
2. a) Undergraduate awards are of-
ered in Arts, Science, Law,
Commerce, Agricultural & Hor-
ticultural Science, Home Science
and Food Technology.
b) Courses at Technical Institutes
are offered in industrial design,
journalism, commercial art, sec-
retarial work, pharmacy. "Sand-
wich" Courses for technicians
are also available.
c) Teacher training, administra-
tion, accounting, librarianship,
child welfare, physiotherapy
and occupational therapy courses
may also be arranged.
3. Qualifications: (i) Cambridge
Higher School Certificate with three
passes at principal level (one of which
must be a C or better) and the General
Paper.
(ii) G.C.E. 'A' Level in three sub-
jects (one a C or better) and the Gen-
eral Paper.
All passes must be in the same year.
Two nominations may be made by St.
Vincent. Successful applicants are re-
quired to sign an undertaking to return
to St. Vincent at the end of their stu-
dies.

ably qualified persons for a three-year
course in Surveying which may be
available at the Waltham Forest Insti-
tute, U.K., from September 1970.
Candidates who satisfy any of the fol-
lowing entrance requirements are eligi-
ble:
a) G.C.E. in 4 subjects, with 3 at Ad-
vanced Level
b) G.C.E. in 5 subjects, with 2 at Ad-
vanced Level
c) Higher National Certificate
d) Entrance to a recognized univer-
sity through an examination.
In all cases English Language or Liter-
ature and Mathematics or Science must
be included among the subjects passed.
Successful applicants will be required
to sign a Bond, with sureties.

POLICE NOTICE
THE OWNERS OF PUBLIC
SERVICE VEHICLES, GOODS
VEHICLES AND TRAILERS.
(H., H.T., & T. PLATES)
The attention of persons who own the
tvues of vehicles mentioned above is
(rawn to the provisions contained in
Regulation 20 and 21 and all amend-
ments thereto of the Motor Vehicles and
Road Traffe Regulations 1959, whereby
no licence may be issued or renewed for
such vehicles unless the Inspector certi-
fies that the vehicle complies with all the
provisions of the Ordinance and of
these Regulations.
The Inspector of Motor Vehicleks
will be available at Police Headquarters
daily from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. except
on Sunday and Public Holidays, to en-
sure that all the abovementioned classes
of vehicles are inspected and are road
worthy before July, 31, 1970.
Regulation 20 (3) requires that these
vehicles are examined twice annually,
that is before the 30th day of June and
31st day of December in each year.
WARNING
Vehicles which have not been pre-
sented for inspection or if presented
have not passed the examination by 31st
July 1970, will be taken off the road.

NOTICE
KINGSTOWN BOARD
A competitive examination for the
award of four scholarships, for two girls,
and two boys, tenable at a recognized
Secondary school, will be held at the
Boys' Grammar School on Friday 3rd
July, 1970, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
2. Each Candidate must:-
(a) Have been less than twelve years
of age on 31st July, 1970.
(b) be a native of the State or child
of a native;
(c) have been residing in Kingstown
or within half a mile of the boun-
daries thereof during three years
previous to 31st July, 1970.
(d) be a pupil of a private or public
school in the State;
(e) produce a certificate of good be-
haviour from the Head Teacher
of such school.
3. No Candidate shall be awarded a
Scholarship who obtains less than one-
third of the maximum of marks in each
subject and less than one half of the
total marks in the Examination.
4. Candidates will be examined in
English, (including Comprehension)
and Arithmetic, and will be given an
Intelligence Test.
5. The Scholarships are awarded for
a period of five years, provided the
Scholars' attendance, conduct and pro-
gress as shown by the term reports are
considered satisfactory.
6. Applications, accompanied by
Birth or Baptismal certificates must
reach the Office of the Kingstown Board,
Paul's Lot, not later than Friday, 26th
June, 1970.
