Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons for appointment to the
post of Secretary and Technical Officer
of the Central Housing and Planning
Authority in the Ministry for Housing,
Local Government and Community De-
velopment.
Qualifications
The person should be a qualified
Building Constructor or a Surveyor or
should have had at least 10 years expe-
rience in building construction and sur-
veying.
Persons holding a diploma from the
Royal Society of Health with at least 10
years practical experience will also be
considered.
The person appointed will be the Exe-
cutive Secretary of the Central Housing
and Planning Authority, and will be
responsible for the layout, building con-
struction and development of low cost
housing projects. He will also be requir-
ed to construct Public Health Installa-
tions.
Experience in the handling of labour
and general business administration will
be an advantage.
Salary:
The salary of the post, which is pen-
sionable, is in the scale $4,704 x $180-
$5,604 X $240-$6,324. The starting point
in the scale will depend on the qualifi-
cations and experience of the applicant.

POST OF CHIEF DRAUGHTSMAN/ESTIMATOR,
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

Applications are invited from persons
holding a Diploma from a reputable In-
stitution in Draughting and Estimating
--or other equivalent qualification, for
appointment to the post of Chief
Draughtsman/Estimator, Public Works
Department, Ministry for Communica-
tions, Works and Labour, Kingstown, St.
Vincent.
Salary:
The Salary Scale of the post is-
$3,984 x $180-$5,244 and the commencing
point therein will depend on the qualifi-
cations and experience of the successful
applicant.
Duties
The duties of the post include respon-
sibility for the proper running of the
Estimating and Drawing Division of the
Public Works Department and the con-
trol of the staff; preparation of plans,


estimates and Bills of Quantities for
building projects, supervision of con-
structicn duties of a similar nature which
may be assigned to the holder of the post.
Quarters:
Quarters are not provided.
Transport Allowance:
Transport Allowance is payable in ac-
cordance with local regulations.

qualifications, and three (3) testimonials,

POST OF ASSISTANT DRAUGHTSMAN,
PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons, male or female, for the
pensionable post of Assistant Draughts-
man, Public Works Department, Ministry
for Communications, Works and Labour.
Salary:
In the scale $1,392 x $84-$1,560 x $96-
$2,040 x $120-$2,280.
Duties of Post:
The successful applicant will be
trained in Draughting, Surveying and
Architectural Draughting and must as-
sist the Chief Draughtsman/Estimator
and the Draughtsman in preparing
minor working drawings for projects,
printing of plans and in site work, e.g.
levelling.
Qualifications:
Applicants are required to possess a
pass at '0' level in Mathematics and
English. A pass in Geography or in one of
the Sciences, especially, Physics or Che-
mistry would be an advantage.
Closing Date:
Applications in writing together with
two recent testimonials and proof of edu-
cation qualifications should be ad-
dressed to the Chief Personnel Officer,
Service Commissions Department, Kings-
town, St. Vincent, to reach him not later

qualified persons, male or female, for the
pensionable post of Draughtsman, Public
Works Department, Ministry for Com-
munications, Works and Labour.
Salary:
The salary scale is T2-3
$2,400 x $120-$2,880/$3,048 x $144-
$3,624 x $180-$3,984. The point of en-

try in the scale will depend on quali-
fications and experience.
Qualifications:
The applicant should have at least
five (5) years experience as a Draughts-
man in Architectural or Engineering
Drawing in a Drawing Office. Posses-
sion of relevant Diplomas will be an
added advantage.
Duties of Post:
The Draughtsman is responsible to
the Chief Draughtsman/Estimator for
the preparation of all working draw-
ings and is required to assist with de-
signs and estimates and with the con-
trol and guidance of the Assistant and
Apprentice Draughtsmen.
Applications, together with two recent
testimonials and proof of qualifications
should be addressed to the Chief Person-
nel Officer, Service Commissions Depart-
ment, Kingstown, St. Vincent, to reach

POST OFFICE NOTICE

It is notified for general information
that the Postal Agency at Buccament
will be converted to a full Services Dis-
trict Post Office as from 15th January,
1969.
The Office will be removed from the
Hope Government School to the premises
of Mrs. PEARL NICHOLS, situated at Retreat
on the public highway to Vermont.

NOTICE.

The attention of the public is drawn to
the liquor licensing session for the
Parishes of St. George's and St. Andrew
which was to be held on the 20th Decem-
ber 1969, will now be held on the 6th
January 1970 at the Kingstown Magis-
trate court at Pauls Lot.

TRAINING IN LIBRARIANSHIP

Applications are invited from suitably
qualified persons between 19 and 40 years
of age for training in Librarianship. The
Courses, which last 2-21/2 years, lead to
the Part I and Part II (Final) Examina-
tions of the Library Association.
Successful applicants will be required
to sign a Bond.
Academic requirements are five passes
in the G.C.E, of which one must be in
English Language and two must be at
Advanced Level or its equivalent.
Applications, on Form T1, should reach
the Chief Personnel Officer (marked At-
tention: Training Officer) not later than
Saturday January 10th, 1970.
