NOTICE.
THE WAGES COUNCILS ORDINANCE, 1953 (No. 1)
The attention of all employers of workers covered by Wages Regulation
Orders made under the authority of the above mentioned Ordinance is invited
to Section 3 of Statutory Rules and Orders, 1953, No. 55 which reads thus:
"3. Notice to be given to Workers.
(1) The employer of any workers to whom any wages regulation pro-
posals or wages regulation order applies shall keep posted up in a
conspicuous position in the work place of such workers a copy of such
Wages Council proposals or Wages Council Order.
(2) Where a wages regulation order has been made providing for the
grant of holiday remuneration the employer shall in addition to post-
ing up of notice in accordance with the proceeding paragraph inform
the worker when holidays are so due of his right to such holidays."
2. Wages Regulation Orders in force apply to Agricultural Workers,
'Industrial Workers, Shop Assistants, Domestic Servants and Port Workers.

VACANCIES FOR MASTERS

1. Applications are invited from suit-
ably qualified persons for appointment
to the vacant post of Graduate Assistant
Master, St. Vincent Grammar School,
Kingstown St. Vincent, to teach one
subject or a combination of two or more
subjects as follows:
I. English
II. Spanish
III. French
IV. Mathematics
V. History
VI. Geography
2. Salary: The salary of the post is
in the scale of $3,804 X 180-$5,064 X
240-$6,084. The point of entry in the
scale will depend upon the Officer's
qualifications and experience.
3. Duties: To carry out such func-
tions and duties as are normally as-
signed to Masters at Secondary Gram-
mar Schools, and in particular to teach
the subjects of the posts they are ap-
pointed at any level required in the
school (age range of pupils 11-19
years) which annually presents candi-
dates for the Ordinary and Advanced
levels of the Cambridge General Certifi-
cate of Education; to take some part in
out-of-school activities, including games
and to perform such other duties as may
be assigned by the Headmaster or other
duly authorised officer.
4. Qualification: An Honours degree
from a university within the British
Commonwealth, in the particular sub-
ject of the posts to which appointment
is to be made; but consideration will
be given to the applicant with General
Degrees which include two or more of
the subjects in paragraph I above. In
every case a Diploma in Education and
teaching experience in secondary schools
will be an advantage. So too will be an
interest in, and ability to assist with the
school's Scout Troop and/or Dramatic
Production.
5. Applications giving full particu-
lars, qualification and experience of the
applicant accompanied by two testi-
monials should be addressed to the Es-
tablishment Officer, Government Office,
Kingstown, St. Vincent, and should

EDUCATION NOTICE

The Department of Education and the
St. Vincent Secondary School Teachers'
Association propose to run a one week
course from 13th August, 1967 for Sec-
ondary School Teachers and for those
persons who intend to enter the teach-
ing profession in September, 1967 direct
from Secondary Schools.
2. The course will include lecture
and discussions on Education Psychol-
ocy and the teaching of the various
s ubjects of the school curriculum.
3. Dr. Shah and Mr. Maynard of
the Institute of Education, University
of the West Indies, will assist local
counterparts, and will be responsible for
taking all the sessions on the teaching of
Mathematics and English respectively.
4. Principals of Secondary Schools
are requested to bring this notice to the
attention of all members of Staff, and
all intending teachers in their fifth and
sixth forms, and to encourage them to
make full use of this form of inservice
training.
5. Names of participants should be
submitted, by the Principal, to the Edu-
cation Officer not later than 21st July,
1967.

ADVERTISEMENT OF APPLICATION
FOR REGISTRATION OF UNITED
KINGDOM PATENT NO. 1008451.

In accordance with the requirement
of Section 3 of the Registration of the
United Kingdom Patents Ordinance,
Notice is hereby given that an applica-
tion was made on the 29th day of May,
1967 by J. R. Geigy A. G. a body cor-
porate organised according to the Laws
of Switzerland of 215 Schwarzwal-
dallee, Balse, Switzerland, through
Edward Alexander Clavier Hughes,
Barrister-at Law, St. Vincent, for the
registration of a Palent in respect of an
invention relating to "Process for the
Production of New Thiophosphoric
Acid Esters".
Any person may, at any time within
TWO MONTHS from date of such ad-
vertisement, give notice to the Regis-
trar, of opposition to the issue of a
certificate of registration upon any of
the grounds prescribed by Section 27 of
the Patents Ordinance (Cap. 155) for

The attention of persons who own
the types of vehicles mentioned above is
drawn to the provisions contained in
Regulaton 20 and 21 and all amend-
ments thereto of the Motor Vehicle &
Road Traffic Regulations 1959, whereby
no licence may be issued or renewed for
such vehicles unless the Inspector cer-
tifies that the vehicle complies with all
the provisions of the Ordinance and of
these regulations.
The Inspector of Motor Vehicles will
be available at Police Headquarters
daily from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. except
on Sunday and Public Holidays, to
ensure that all the abovementioned
classes of vehicles are inspected and
are roadworthy before July, 31st 1967.
Regulation 20 (6) requires that these
vehicles are examined twice annually,
that is before 30th day of June and 31st
day of December, in each year.

WARNING
Vehicles which have not been pre-
sented for inspection or if presented
have not passed the examination by
31st July, 1967, will be taken off the
road.

Be it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Appropriation Short title
Ordinance, 1967.
2. There shall be and is hereby granted to Her Majesty Grant of
the Queen for the service of the Civil Government of the Supply for
Colony for the year ending the thirty-first day of December 1967.
One Thousand Nine Hundred and Sixty-seven the sum of Nine

Saint Vincent and by the authority of the same as follows:-

ment) Ordinance, 1967, and shall be read as one with the Excise Cqp. 18s.
Ordinance (hereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance)

2. Section 3 of the principal Ordinance as amended is
hereby repealed and replaced with the following:-

within the Colony (other than rum used in the manu-

spirits) the duty of six dollars per proof gallon and
so in proportion for any greater or less quantity.

Repeal of 3. The Excise (Amendment) Ordinance, 1954 and the
Ordinances. Excise (Amendment) Ordinance, 1956, are hereby repealed.

1. Short title. This Notice may be cited as the Burial Ground (Public)
Notice, 1967.
WHEREAS by section 3(1) of the Burial Grounds Ordinance, 1951 (No. 1 of
1951) it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Administrator in Council to
set apart and licence as a public burial ground any parcel of Crown land or
any private property which may be acquired for the purpose of a burial ground:
AND WHEREAS by section 6 of the .said Ordinance it is enacted that Notice
of the licensing of any place as a burial ground shall in all cases be' forthwith
published in the Gazette.

Now THEREFORE I, HYWELL GEORGE, Administrator of the Colony of
Saint Vincent, with the advice of the Executive Council and pursuant to the
authority vested in me by the said Ordinance, hereby give Notice that there is
set apart and licensed as a public burial ground the parcel of Crown land
described in the Schedule hereto:-

SCHEDULE.
ALL THAT lot piece or parcel of land situate at Arnos Vale in the Parish
of Saint George in the Colony of Saint Vincent containing by admeasurements
two acres and bounded and abutted on the North by the level lands of the
Cigarett- factory and a road on the South by the Reserve lands of the Arnos
Vale Air Port on the East by the grounds of the Air Port terminal building
and on the Wet hy Crown lands or howsoever otherwise the same may be
abutted bounded distinguished or described all as the same is delineated in the
plan or diagram thereof numbered G/572 surveyed in November 1966 by
H. R. Wason, Crown Surveyor and S. Alexander, Survey Assistant and ap-
proved and lodged at the Surveys Office in Kingstown on the 3rd day of
February, 1967.
