LEG ITIE CIL (ELECTIONS) (AMENDMENT)
RULES.

(Gazetted 23rd August, 1957.)

1. Short title. These Rules may be cited as the Legislative Council
(Elections) (Amendment) Rules, 1957, and shall be read as one with the Legis-
lative Council (Elections) Rules, 1951, (S.R. & 0. 1951, No. 87) as amended by the
Legislative Council (Elections) (Amendment) Rules, 1951, (S.R. & 0. 1951, No. 91)
and the Legislative Council (Elections) (Amendment) Rules, 1954, (S.R. & 0. 1954,
No. 37) which Rules as so amended are hereinafter referred to as the principal
Rules.

2. Rule 4 of principal Rules revoked and replaced. Rule 4 of
the principal Rules is hereby revoked and replaced as follows:-
"4. Remuneration to Assistant Registration Officers.
(1) An Assistant Registration Officer shall be paid the sum of thirty-six
dollars for his services in connection with the registration of electors in an
electoral district in an enumeration year: Provided that an Assistant Regis-
tration Officer appointed in respect of the Electoral District of the Grenadines
shall be paid the sum of fifty dollars for his services.
(2) In any year not being an enumeration year an Assistant registration
Officer shall be paid the sum of thirty dollars for his services in connection
with the registration of electors in an electoral district: Provided that the
Assistant Registration Officer appointed in respect of the Islands of Mustique
and Mayreau in the Electoral District of the Grenadines shall each be paid
the sum of fifteen dollars for their services."
3. Rule 5 of principal Rules revoked and replaced. Rule 5 of
the principal Rules is hereby revoked and replaced as follows:-
"5. Remuneration to Enumerators. The Enumerators, for a
house to house canvas for the preparation of the list of electors, shall be paid
the sum of seven cents per name entered in the Index Book: Provided that
no Enumerator shall be paid less than fifteen dollars in respect of his services."
4. Rule 10 of principal Rules amended. Rule 10 of the principal
Rules is hereby amended by the deletion of the words "one cent" occurring in
the second line thereof and the substitution therefore of the words "one and
one-half cents".
5. Deletion of Appendix to. principal Rules. The Appendix to
the principal Rules is hereby deleted and replaced as follows:-
